For more than half a century, the serene countryside now know as Chadbourne has been treasured by the Stephenson family. Nimrod and Lucille Stephenson purchased the still-beautiful 1860-circa farmhouse and its surrounding land in 1943, thrilled with the prospect of beginning their marriage and starting a family on these beautifully rolling hills located off Highway 50 South in Garner. Their dreams became reality as they were blessed with the brith of two sons, Ken and Reid Stephenson. Nimrod and Lucille raised Ken and Reid by their sides as they farmed, tended livestock, and worked to preserve their Civil War-era home.
